Talla na Mara and Pairc Niseaboist Terms and Conditions / Site Rules 

Before confirming your booking, please take the time to read the information below. It includes vital information regarding cancellation policies and the amenities and services available at the site, which will assist you with planning your holiday.


Update 13/07/2020: 

  • In accordance with current Scottish Government guidance, the site will be opening with restricted facilities from Saturday 1st August.
  •  For the safety of visitors, staff and the local community, no shared or communal facilities will be open until further notice. Only units with self-contained hygiene facilities will be accepted.We are unable to accommodate awnings on this site.
  • Fresh water, grey water, chemical toilet disposal and refuse bin facilities will be available.

  • We are unable to accept awnings at this site.
  • If you are displaying any symptoms of Covid19, please contact us and postpone your stay. Anyone displaying symptoms of Covid19 will not be permitted on site.   • In the unlikely event that you or one of your party develop symptoms of Covid19 and Government guidance or regulation prevents you from travelling home as planned, we will permit you to extend your stay for the period of isolation required by the Government at the same nightly rate as you paid in your original booking. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/self-isolation-and-treatment/when-to-self-isolate-and-what-to-do/

  • We may need to cancel your booking at short notice due to Covid19 (e.g. for an outbreak on the island , return to lockdown, or the guests before you having to self-isolate). In such cases, our liability to you will be limited to returning all monies received by us for your booking (or moving your booking plus money paid to another suitable date).

  • Children must remain within the pitch area unless accompanied by an adult.

  • Full payment will be taken at time of booking. All further payments will be contactless.

  • Providing full booking details and advance payment should mean you do not need to enter reception on arrival.

  • We have made this decision to support the local economy and protect our local environment by providing safe parking and waste disposal facilities. 

  • Guidelines and restrictions are changing, sometimes daily, so please check the Scottish Government website and NHS Inform for all the current information about Covid19, any related restrictions, what symptoms to be aware of and what to do in the event that you need to self-isolate.

  • These terms and conditions are subject to change in accordance with further guidance from the Scottish Government and local authority.

Payment: Full payment is taken at the time of booking, by credit/debit card or Paypal. At this time, we are unable to accept cash.
Cancellation/No-Show Policy: In the event of cancellations or no-shows, our refund policy is as follows;
No-Show: The full value of the booking is retained.
Cancellation If a booking is cancelled on the first day of the booking, a charge equal to the first night of the stay will be made. Where a cancellation is made more than one day before arrival, a full refund will be issued. 
Holiday Cancellation Insurance: We strongly advise you to take out the appropriate levels of cancellation insurance so you can have peace of mind that your costs will be covered, should you need to cancel your stay with us for any reason.  We recommend that guests have an appropriate level of  insurance in place for their needs.
Arrival/Departure Procedures: Check in is from 2pm onwards and check out is at 10am on the day of your departure. Due to the Covid19 pandemic, we have introduced a contactless check-in/check-out procedure. On both arrival and departure, please text (07835911379) with your name and vehicle registration number. On departure, please also confirm that no-one within your party has experienced any known symptoms of Covid19 during your stay. 

Should you have any questions or concerns during your stay, please contact us using any of the below methods, or visit our reception whilst adhering to social distancing guidance. 

Facilities: We are currently unable to offer the use of our toilet/shower facilities and so can only welcome campers with their own hygiene facilities. 

Fresh Water:
Talla na Mara There is a tap and hose opposite the Chemical Toilet Disposal for fresh water. This is clearly marked as drinking water. 
Pairc Niseaboist There is a tap and hose to the left of the path. This is clearly marked as drinking water.

Refuse Bin Facilities: Please use the designated bins for disposing of different types of rubbish and recycling.

Chemical Toilet Disposal: Please use the green Chemical Waste Disposal point for your chemical waste.  You will have received a four digit number to access this padlock. There is a hose provided by the Chemical Waste Disposal point  for your convenience.
As we are on a septic tank, we ask that guests use a green/organic chemical where possible, free from harsh chemicals and that you ensure only bodily waste and toilet paper are disposed of in the disposal point. Please also try and limit the amount of water put in the system during cleaning.

Grey Waste:

Please use the drains by the disabled parking.
Pairc Niseaboist Please use the drain covered by the metal grating.

WIFI: Guest WIFI is available in the foyer area of Talla na Mara, please search for Free WIFI – Outer Hebrides. 

Restaurant: Please contact the restaurant operator directly at info@antraigh.com for up to date opening hours. Booking is recommended. 

Studios: There are several artist studios at Talla na Mara, offering high quality products to remind you of your visit to the Isle of Harris. Please contact the studios directly to confirm opening times https://www.facebook.com/studiostallanamara/.

Fire Safety: Smoking is discouraged within the Pairc Niseaboist site, however, should you wish to smoke, please do so a safe distance away from the building and dispose of in the ash responsibly.
Campfires, fireworks and Chinese lanterns are prohibited at all of our campsites.
Fire extinguishers are available within the site. Please familiarise yourself/group with their location and also the fire assembly point. 

Children: For safety purposes, please do not permit children to roam unattended on the site at any time. Parents are responsible for their children, and as such, children must be supervised at all times.
Dogs: Well behaved dogs are welcome. Dogs MUST be kept on a lead at all times. Owners are expected to clean up after their dogs, using the bins provided on site.
Please remember that our site neighbours crofting land, with sheep and cattle grazing nearby. We therefore suggest that you follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code https://www.outdooraccess-scotland.scot/dog-owners.
Code of Conduct: We expect our guests to look after and respect our site and the surrounding area. As Pairc Niseaboist is a residential area, we would ask that you drive carefully on site, adhering to the 10mph speed limit. Please also ensure there is no excessive noise at any time and keep noise levels to a minimum after 10pm. The rest and quiet of the traditional island Sunday is very important to many people in our local community, and we would ask all our visitors to show respect for our local culture.   

Parents are responsible for their children, and as such, children must be supervised at all times.
Our Local Community: Under the circumstances brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have gone to great measures to protect our staff, visitors and our local community.   Local relationships are important to us all and some are understandably  apprehensive about the potential impacts of returning visitors; your thoughtfulness will help reassure them. Please show consideration for our staff, other visitors, and our local community. We would urge all our guests to respect social distancing measures and hygiene protocols when on site and when using local services, as well as in the wider community.

Complaints Procedure: We take all comments from guests seriously. In the unlikely event that you wish to make a complaint, you can contact us by telephone or email and we will respond. We will try to resolve any issues as soon as possible.

COVID 19 specific Terms & Conditions:

Government Guidelines:  We ask all guests to adhere to Government Guidelines in relation to social distancing and hygiene, and have included signage and provided hand washing / sanitising facilities at various points on site. At this time, you must not invite/welcome guests out with your own group on to your pitch. Anyone found to be breaching the site’s Covid19 procedures will be asked to leave the site. 

Contact Details: For the health and safety of our customers and staff, we are recording the name and contact details of the person making the booking to support NHS Scotland’s Test and Protect. If required, this information will be used to enable NHS Scotland to contact you should you have been in the premises around the same time as someone who has tested positive for coronavirus. Contacting people who might have been exposed to the virus is an important step in stopping the spread.

Reasons for Data Collection: As stated above, the purpose for which we are processing your personal data is to assist with NHS Scotland’s Test and Protect strategy in relation to the coronavirus public health epidemic. This will involve the gathering and, when necessary, the sharing of information with NHS Scotland as the responsible body for Test and Protect. Your data will not be used for any other purpose.
In order to assist in the containment of the virus, we will only share your data when it is requested directly by NHS Scotland.  This will only be in the unlikely event there is a cluster of coronavirus cases linked to the venue. Information will be transferred securely to NHS National Services Scotland who will use the data to contact trace those who were in the establishment at the same time as the positive case, and will provide guidance and support to those who may be advised to self-isolate.

What can we do? 

  • Enjoy the accommodation and the area of your pitch

  • Walk freely around the site and on the beaches observing social distancing at all times from fellow holidaymakers, the local community and the West Harris Trust team.

  • Use your own facilities in your campervan

  • Bring soap, hand gel, toilet roll, disinfectant and hand sanitiser – just to be on the safe side

  • Talk to any of our site staff, but always observe social distancing

  • Wash your hands frequently, especially before visiting communal areas in the site, and make use of the handwashing and hand sanitation facilities provided

     

What happens if I or a member of my party displays COVID symptoms during my/ our stay? If you are displaying any symptoms of Covid19, please contact us and postpone your stay. Anyone displaying symptoms of Covid19 will not be permitted on site. We are not liable for any consequential damage or losses incurred. We can help you find similar alternative accommodation on the island but cannot guarantee this will be available.
Holiday Cancellation Insurance: We strongly advise you take out Holiday Cancellation insurance.

  • Awnings may only be erected where social distancing can be maintained and where not located opposite another awning. 

  • Fresh water, grey water, chemical toilet disposal and refuse bin facilities will be available.

  • As previously, chemical toilet disposal is located at our other site, Talla na Mara, HS3 3AE, located approximately 2 miles further south. 

  • If you are displaying any symptoms of Covid19, please contact us and postpone your stay. Anyone displaying symptoms of Covid19 will not be permitted on site. SparrowHouse Gallery: Fiona runs a gallery within the old school building, selling original pieces of art. You are of course welcome to visit the gallery when open, but we ask that you do not request use of the toilet facilities, because this will be refused.
