Niseabost

Until the Pairc Niseaboist development by the Trust, there had not been a housing settlement here for many years. The Trust in partnership with HHP have built housing that has enabled families and young people back to the area.

Place name:

The name Niseabost has norse roots with ‘Nis’ meaning a headland or peninsula and ‘bost’ referring to a farm stedding. You can see evidence of an old settlement on the headland with ruins and lazy beds in the area.
